Attractions

Pembrokeshires not only is host to some of the most breathtaking scenery in Wales,  it is also host to some of Wales top tourist attractions.    Tenby's South beach is one of  Wales most spectacular   with   stunning    views across    Caldey     Island.

Both Tenby and Saundersfoot are fringed with golden sand and are ideal for children.  Oakwood,  The Crystal Maze and Folley Farm are all within a 10 minute drive of Tenby House Hotel.  These attractions have thousands of visitors and are amongst Wales most popular tourist attractions.  Oakwood boasts Europe's biggest wooden roller coaster, and is host to a variety of thrill rides which will appeal as much to adults as children. The breathtaking coastline of St Govan's is only thirty minutes away. Here  dramatic cliffs fall into the sea which is in stark contrast to the sandy coastline around Tenby.  St Govans is where you'll find a sixteenth century monastery built into the sheer cliff face.   Although small,  you'll be simply amazed at its location.   Pembrokeshire has miles of coastal paths to explore,  from these paths you'll enjoy views which justify Pembrokeshire as being one of Britain's most beautiful counties.  If castles are your thing,  you'll find two magnificent ones in Carew and Pembroke.  Both are within  a   thirty   minute  drive from Tenby

and  are   well  worth   a   visit. Pembrokeshire’s beaches are world famous and many thousands of past holidaymakers have fond memories of playing on the safe, warm expanses, golden sandy coves and beaches found around the colourful 180 miles of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The two main resorts of Tenby and St Davids, at North Beach and Whitesands Bay respectively, along with five others
all proudly fly the European Standard Blue Flag. The rural seaside award is held by many of the beaches in Pembrokeshire. They are enjoyed for their natural setting, but still fulfill 12 strict criteria including cleanliness and bathing water quality. All Seaside Award beaches are required to display updated water quality results for the current season as well as results for the previous years. The Good Beach Guide, published by Readers Digest, lists the top beaches in Britain and by August 1999 there are 20 in Pembrokeshire. With the worry taken out of a day on the beach, all you have to do is decide which of these wonderful beaches you want to include in your holiday itinery.  Our coastline has a lot more than beaches to offer, the wild flowers on the coast path are renowned for their stunning beauty as  they carpet
the cliff slopes with the sea lapping the lowest blooms at high tide. Peregrine falcons and buzzards patrol the clear blue skies while seals and dolphins keep watch on the fisherman’s catch of silver mackerel or a juicy lobster. Skomer, Ramsey and Caldey Islands give their visitors a chance of close wildlife encounters and the feeling of being
castaway for a day. Inland parks and gardens add variety to the choice of ‘days out’ giving guests the opportunity to try their hand at country sports and crafts. History buffs will soon discover our 11th Century Cathedral, two Bishop’s Palaces, a dozen castles, a working iron age fort and standing stones at every turn - quite a heritage. Fun and relaxation are easy here, where the gulf stream warms the shores and some of the highest sunshine records in Britain are held.
